Social events

The organizers are preparing a reach set of social events for the conference participants and the accompanying persons.  

Welcome party for the participants, mainly from abroad, who arrive one day before the conference start. The event will be held in the conference lobby and the possibility to make a registration for the conference will be offered during the evening.  

After the conference programme of the first day, the Gala Dinner is organized, to create a space and time for conversation between the conference participants. The festive atmosphere of the evening will be completed by wine tasting, to bring closer the participants the famous wine collection of these well know Moravian region. The willingness to participate on this evening should be marked in the registration sheet. 

The walking tour in Brno downtown will bring you in the rich Moravian history.  To the most visited sights of Brno's Old Town belongs the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, medieval Liberty Square and the Capuchin Monastery. The tour will continue into the historic Brno Ossuary beneath St. James’ Church and the mighty Špilberk Castle, offering panoramic city views and a glimpse into Brno’s past as a formidable fortress. You are invited to unveils Brno’s hidden wonders and leaves you with a lasting impression. 

You can take a tour yourself or you can use the guided tour organized by the conference team. At the end of the guided tour is the visit of Brno underground cellars, water tanks and mysterious underground cathedrals offered. The willingness to participate on the guided tour and visiting the underground of Brno should be marked in the registration sheet, also.

For Friday afternoon is prepared the guided tour to Villa Tugendhat, which being inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2001. Villa Tugendhat was built in 1929–1930 for Greta and Fritz Tugendhat to a design by the German architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The architectural purity, interconnection of interior and exterior, timeless technical equipment, noble and exotic materials and, above all, a high level of preservation – these are the main attributes that led to the inscription on the UNESCO World heritage list. But the history of the villa is at least as fascinating as its cultural significance. Don’t forget to mark your interest during the registration.
